We have last year's numbers and we know that we worked 2 days per month on average at the studio. And that our average monthly sales were 50K. Sure, there were tons of photographers shooting for less than $250 including all the images, there are still lots of them. Sure, headshot photography is not something new. Sure, Realtors were already getting headshots. But, they were not receiving the best service because they were being photographed, on many occasions, by the same people who photographed the houses they put for sale.
When I say, hyper niche, I went SMALL.

Contrary to popular belief, it didn't limit my earnings, it actually allowed me to command higher prices while providing something they didn't know they needed/wanted.

And when I say anyone, I mean it.
My first photographer I trained had been my high school intern the previous year. When she left the studio her average sale was $3700. She learned my posing system in two sessions and perfected them over 2 months. One of my current photographers is my makeup artist who began her journey with me as a studio assistant. Her current average sale is $3000. Having said that, you don't have to adopt my system. If you have been in business for a while, chances are you have a signature style and that's great. In that case, I will show you how I came up with my system so you can do the same. And if you're new, just now toying with the idea of leaving your current job, then by all means, copy-paste it. And continue to do so for eternity or find and develop your own signature as you go.
As part of this section of the course, you will watch two live consultations, two live photoshoots, and two immediate reveals. One with a Realtor and one with a business coach. And talking about consultations, I developed a 50-page slideshow I use at all my consultations. It's designed with my ideal client in mind but I also use it with other business professionals. I show you how the first and most important step is to connect with your client and get to know them and actively listen. Once you have a good understanding of who your client is, what their marketing needs are, what their fears and hesitations are, and what their branding message is, now you can serve them better. And I'll show you how I serve my clients by drawing from the psychology of color and marketing techniques to help them stand out in their industry and position themselves as leaders. Here, I make suggestions as to what to wear and bring to their session. We talk about different uses for their images so you answer the million-dollar question before it even comes up: what am I going to do with 20+ images? I just need one headshot. Once we have listened to them and provided so much value, it's time to ask for the sale and I will walk you through how I do this so that before they hang up you have been paid a booking retainer. Then I show you how to set boundaries for the day of and the weeks after their session so you deliver on what you promise. Finally, I show you how I nurture these newly formed relationships so that these clients start sending me referrals (without a referral system) and become clients for life.
You see, headshots may not be the most glamourous genre, but it sure is a gateway drug!

And that's how my clients who come for headshots return with their families, their pets, themselves for boudoir sessions, their high school seniors, their elderly parents, you name it! And because my pricing is the same across the board, I don't have to re-educate them on my value. And when they come back for a second session they usually spend 50% more.
